So… What Happens Next?
It feels like only yesterday that I was writing my first blog post, announcing my return to the world of The Zamorian Chronicles. At the time, I wasn't entirely sure where the journey would lead. I simply knew that I had unfinished business with Millie, Arthur, and the mysterious world of Chintak.
Well, a lot has happened since then.
The biggest news is that The Primary Amulet, the third and final book in The Zamorian Chronicles trilogy, is now complete.
Not only is the trilogy finally finished, but the early feedback from my test readers has been nothing short of incredible. After spending so many years with these characters and this story, hearing readers tell me that the ending exceeded their expectations has been both humbling and immensely rewarding.
For the first time ever, The Zamorian Chronicles exists as a complete trilogy.
The original The Key to Chintak has also undergone extensive revision and re-editing over the past few years, meaning that what began life as a single self-published novel has evolved into something much bigger – a fully realised adventure series spanning three books and over 270,000 words.
But the books are only part of the story.
On the film and television side, momentum continues to build.
Version 5 of the feature film screenplay for The Key to Chintak is currently under review in Hollywood and is edging ever closer to sign-off. Once complete, the intention is to begin presenting the project to studios and industry partners.
That, in itself, feels surreal to write.
Back in 2005, when I was travelling the country visiting schools and introducing children to Millie and Arthur, I could never have imagined that twenty years later the story might one day find its way onto cinema or television screens.
Even more encouraging is the continued support the project receives from the entertainment industry. I now have three separate letters of interest from respected film and television executives, all of whom have read the material and expressed genuine enthusiasm for the world and characters of The Zamorian Chronicles.
Nothing in this industry is guaranteed, of course. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that publishing and filmmaking both require equal measures of patience, persistence, and optimism.
But there is undoubtedly a growing sense that the pieces are slowly coming together.
The books are finished, and the film side continues to develop.
And there is increasing interest in what The Zamorian Chronicles could become.
For me personally, the most rewarding part of this journey has been proving something to myself.
When I stepped away from writing years ago to concentrate on family and business, I always wondered whether I would ever return to finish the story I had started. The answer, it turns out, was yes.
The world of Chintak refused to let me go.
So, what happens next?
Hopefully, finding the right publishing partner to introduce the trilogy to a whole new generation of readers.
Hopefully, finding the right screen partners to bring Millie and Arthur's adventures to an even wider audience.
And hopefully, proving that sometimes stories simply have to wait for the right moment.
As always, thank you to everyone who has supported this journey, whether by reading the books, sharing kind words, watching the trailer, or simply following along here on the website.
I have a feeling the adventure may only just be beginning.
